The Keller Independent School District covers a fast growing area that sees upwards of 2500 homes built each year. And KISD enrollment is rising with that growth. 2010 total enrollment was around 33,000 kids, more than double the number in 2000. That number will rise to an expected 40,000 students by around 2020. The KISD has dealt with this expansion by opening 22 new schools between 2000 and 2010.
Keller School District uses a four-tier campus system
Covering about 51 square miles, the Keller Independent School District serves the Tarrant County city of Keller plus small portions of Colleyville, Haltom City, Hurst, North Richland Hills, Southlake, Watauga, Westlake and a large portion of North Ft. Worth. A four-tier campus system advances from Elementary (K-4), to Intermediate (5th and 6th), and Middle (7th and 8th) and finally a four year High School.
