The North Fort Worth, Roanoke and Alliance area offers something for everyone. From western cowboy to cowboy chic, trendy to luxury, historical to sparkling new, home buyers are discovering the area’s wide variety of lifestyle choices.
Good schools, economic growth and a wide variety of housing options make this area worth a look.
NORTH FORT WORTH
From cowboy chic to historic, trendy to luxury
The city of Fort Worth is the fifth largest city in Texas. The city has grown in different directions at different times, and each portion reflects the era it
grew up in. From true cowboy to cowboy chic, trendy to luxury, Fort Worth’s variety is as large as its land area. The North Fort Worth area is a portion of the city generally north of Highway 287 both east and west of I-35. And while Fort Worth is affectionately referred to as “Cowtown” by people who live there, the North Fort Worth area is more about shiny and new.
Economic growth and great schools bring new construction
Master planned communities have cropped up along with their associated parks, greenbelts and trails. Many neighborhoods offer community amenity centers with pools and ball fields plus the organizations to
keep neighbors busy with everything from book clubs to children’s playgroups. The neighborhood developers’ combination of planning and savvy has caught the attention of home buyers in the area who are not only coming to participate in the economic growth, but also the outstanding schools in the North Fort Worth Area. Those schools include the Northwest ISD, Keller ISD, and Birdville ISD.
ROANOKE
“City slickers” discovering the area
Located on the railroad, Roanoke was a cattle center in its early days. The town had two saloons, a horse trough, and a water tank – all located on the center of what is now Oak Street. What more could you need? Roanoke’s prime location halfway between Fort Worth and Denton has been discovered by “city folk” who are now close to outnumbering the cattle. Roanoke’s low crime rate, country ambiance, large
lots, and easy access to Metroplex amenities is such a draw for “city slickers” that the area is on the brink of becoming a vast economic entity.
Home of the Silver Spur Saloon
Roanoke was recently named the “Unique Dining Capital of Texas”, so be sure and try out some of the city’s 40 restaurants which mainly poplulate the thriving downtown area of Austin Street Plaza and Oak Street. And while you’re there, stop by the Visitor Center and Museum to see the local artifacts and discover more of Roanoke’s colorful past. It’s located in the original 1886 Silver Spur Saloon. (And you thought a name like that was only in the movies, didn’t you?)
Old Meets New in Roanoke
Old meets new at Roanoke’s state of the art Recreation Center. The 38,000 square foot facility offers everything from racquetball and fitness programs to a children’s activity center with billiards table,
air hockey, and pump it up arcade. The new town soccer complex and baseball fields regularly hosts league play while the city library and Community Center offer regular programs for children, teens and adults. And though the city does have a community pool, Hawaiian Falls Waterpark has now come to town. It’s billed as the “world’s largest aqua play structure”, and features Water World, an interactive six story high playground and a 16,000 square foot wave pool.
Homes in Roanoke includes historic treasures and brand new luxury
Housing in Roanoke follows the “old meets new” theme too, ranging from historic old town treasures to brand new luxury homes served by The Northwest Independent School District.

Schools in the area include the Keller ISD, Northwest ISD and the Birdville ISD
Model Public-Private Venture
