The cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford make up an area locals often refer to as “H.E.B.” It’s almost as if one community. That’s because the three cities share historic and employment connections as well as a mutual interest in the school 
district which has been counted among the top 10% in the nation. Convenient to both Dallas and Ft. Worth (hence the often used term “Mid-Cities”), the three cities have grown to a population hovering just under 150,000 due in part to the opening of the Dallas / Fort Worth International Airport in 1974.
New jobs created Hurst, Euless and Bedford
The opening of the DFW Airport brought new jobs to the area in the early 1970′s and the three cities saw their populations grow. Bell Helicopter soon opened a plant in the area, and then, as today, many residents work in
airport related fields.The growth of Hurst, Euless and Bedford has not eliminated the secure, friendly, small-town, family-oriented atmosphere that has always prevailed in the communities. Located along Highway 121 and Loop 820, the three cities united in 1959 when they merged their school districts into the Hurst/Euless/Bedford ISD.
